What is Acupuncture?

Written By Full Life Chiropractic on October 22, 2022

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the body has 14 channels also known as meridians which create an energy flow through the body.  Acupuncture is part of the ancient practice of traditional chinese medicine and this technique is used to balance the flow of energy. This energy is known as Qi (“chee”).  When there is a disruption of the flow of Qi it can lead to disease.

Acupuncture is performed through the stimulation of these points along the meridians with the use of thin needles. This can improve the flow of Qi which improves health by rebalancing the body.. Acupuncture can help with varying conditions such as:

  • Allergies
  • Anxiety
  • Arthritis
  • Asthma
  • Back pain
  • Bell’s Palsy
  • Colds
  • Depression
  • Digestion
  • Fertility
